29. The Michaelangelo of Nipple Tattoos

I spend an evening on the internet researching 3D nipple tattoos – I know that the breast care nurse can do them, but Giles has also mentioned that there are tattoo parlours where they can do 3D tattoos that look very natural. My husband is keen for me to consider something more creative and sure enough, as I go searching, there are whole sites dedicated to decorative mastectomy coverups. Some are rather beautiful adornments (if large) and some look very DIY. You can even have your nipples reshaped into hearts. The name of a Baltimore-based tattooist, Vinny Myers, keeps appearing on the searches and he is touted as ‘the Michaelangelo of Nipple Tattoos’. I find relatively few places in the UK offering 3D nipple tattooing – and there is limited information or reviews on them. I quite like the idea of going to a proper grungy tattoo parlour – although am not convinced that I’m ready for a creative statement on my scarred frontage.
